This is a short background story about the two characters in this comic story. As you see here, one of them is a new school Geek and the other is an old school Geek. Both of them work for IBM, they live in an expensive high-rise apartment. Both are in there early thirty, one of them has a girl friend who lives with them on an on and off base. So just stick around and watch both Edward and Hector try to make it rich before they tare each other apart.
Here is the script to page one and page two. Don't want to give you the whole script, which would take away from the comic story.
Action: It was a boring Saturday night for Edward, then Hector just rampaged in kicking down the door and off its hinges.
Edward: What the heck are you doing!
Hector: I just got the new Episode 20 Dark Vader action figure!
Edward: really?
Hector: it also comes with a comic book and kung fu grip.
Edward: for real, let me see it!
Hector: wait just a second I've waited in line for 5 hours to get this! I'm not just going to hand it over to you till I get to drool over it first.
Edward: then let me just look at the comic book for just a second.
Hector: no.
Edward: I'll give you 5 dollars!
Hector: make it 10!
Action: Just like that Edward jump from his seat and fly's at the comic.
Action: Hector pulls back and said not so fast!
Edward: what.
Hector: money first.
Action: Edward hands him the money then quickly snatches the comic from his hands.
Edward: Yah chomp.
Hector: oh and one thing, if you rip one page, I'll choke you within an inch of your life.
Edward: yah, yah.
Hector: I mean it!
Edward: what you going to do about it.
Action: Edward holds up the comic and rips one corner of the first page of the comic book.
Hector: now your going to get it!
Action: Hector leaps at Edward.

First impression!
Here are two Mech designs I did in 2002. Had allot of fun making theses robots, I learned allot making robots. The top one is a human like figure and the bottom one is of an animal type.
Now here is a tutorial I made for making robots.
This lesson should not be to hard, it is all drawn on 8in by 10in paper. The first part should only take a few minutes, just put together a human figure normal superhero build about 2 head lengths and tall lags. If your experience with drawing super large superhero’s then skip this step.
As you see here, there is a much larger figure in this drawing. Just make the shoulders 4 head lengths, the arms, lags, hip, feet, and hands need to be readjusted to match more, leave the head small. The doted line shows were the last figure was. This step should only take a few minutes.
Like a cheaply made robot costume start adding boxes on the large figure just like the one you see here. I covered the neck to add a more robot feel. The head is now a little off centered with the new box like torso, don’t worry we’ll fix that in the next step. I’ve also put the knees up high to make the bottom part of the legs bigger, this also adds a more robot like feel. You may also see that all the boxes have tubes between them, this will make it easier for you because you don’t have to have all the boxes in perfect prospective, giving you a little room to bend the rules of prospective and make it much faster to create your mech. Like the last step, the doted line shows were the last figure was. This step should only take a few minutes.
Finding good reference can make this part fast and easy or slow and hard. As you see here, I started sketching out all the major parts to my robot, the head, shoulders, legs, hip, arms, and torso. You don’t need to sketch out every little detail, only the parts you want the observer to focus on the most. Its good to draw the front, back, and side view of the robot parts you wish to use. When you start adding these parts to your robot the proportions may change, don’t worry about that, you’re just using this step as a reference. This part don’t take hardly any drawing just allot of thinking, if your picky like me it could take up to an hour to do this part.
Now the fun part begins, you get to finally add your ideas to the blank robot like figure. It draws allot more easily then it looks. If you look closely you can see the original blocks use to make the robot, there on the torso and you can also see the doted line on the shoulders. Just like Lego’s, start adding on your custom parts, if you have a hard time telling what size the robot parts should be, its good most of the time to just make the part larger. The feet can be tricky, just draw the one that’s in the back first then draw the foot in front to have the same prospective.
Last but not lease the details, start carving the details into the robot like a statue. Just take out a slice of tracing paper and start adding small stuff like in grooves, out grooves, wires, vents, screws, and most important of all, were and tare, a details all artists should find an excuse to add. Don’t forget line weight please. This should take less then two hours. Its alive, I call it the monkey juice bot!
This lesson teaches about the human figure Mech, hopefully I’ll have time to make one that’s more animal like with huge weapons. I’ll show some of the designs I’ll use for the large Mech I’ll be doing on large art paper.
Did this in 2005. It’s a redesign of a character I did in 2002. As you see, it’s a 20-foot giant, made from the military, half human half mechanical. He has large jackhammers on his arms and a nuclear power plant on his shoulders.
Did this in 2005. It’s a redesign of a character I did in high school and yes I keep track of all my artwork since I was 12 years old. As you see it’s a commando cat with large boots, gloves, armor, googols, and retractable claws.
Did this for a home girl in 2003 but before I could finish it she left the state and I had not herd form her since. In 2005 I was looking in my portfolio and found it. I decided to finish it up because I just don’t like half done work that was not meant to be done half way. As you see, its a pretty lady all Diva out. The hair the clothing and the shoe’s she picked out in a magazine, she says the would is hers, that’s why a globe is in her hand.
Did this for a costumer in 2003, he skipped out as well but I was new at freelancing, you can just say I learned fast about bad clients back then! The T-shirt had a logo on top but was removed when I edited it for the web, it was a name the client made up and I really did not need it. As you see, its of a skull of an animal, you know the stuff you see in the desert photos. The background was made in MS PSP. I’ll find some way to sell this.
Did this for a T-shirt design in 2003. It’s of a kung-fu dog mixed with a little Funk, added an Afro a jacket and a belt. At this time I was moving more form cartoon style art to comic book style art. My brother wished for me to keep it as a simple cartoon for the customers but I went over board with added realistic anatomy and details. I penciled, inked, and colored it.
A sketch I did in art class in 2004. It’s of a super hero woman with allots of sheet metal on her. I was experimenting and talking to other class mates wile doing this, it took me 3 hours if I include the goofing off but it was fun and I discovered a new style on top of that.
It was the summer of 2003 and I was playing around with line variation and different styles. It’s a commando woman this lots of weapons, battle worn cloths and a crazy hairstyle. It was a good start moving form cartoons to more real looking comic book styles character designs.
First day!
I finely found a place to post my artwork but mostly my Sequential art, graphics designs, art sketches, and art drafts, so stick around!
